Giraffe Pets and Other Updates from the Jamaa Journal!

A few days ago, the Jamaa Journal updated to inform everyone that pet giraffes were now available!
If you're a member, you can buy a pet giraffe of your own in the Diamond Shop in Jamaa Township, for three diamonds.
Also mentioned in the Jamaa Journal is the new den, which is called the Crystal Palace. This den is also available for purchase in the Diamond Shop for 7 diamonds.
It's said to be the biggest den yet... will you be buying it?

This issue of the Journal also includes information on rhinos making their return, lions in Jamaa going endangered, and updates on a few of the adventures.

Happy jamming!

Basketball Hoop!

Today's new item is a furniture item which can be found in Jam Mart Furniture. Following the sports (but not World Cup) theme, it is the Basketball Hoop!
I've heard that it's interactive, and that if you click the basketball, it goes into the net. It's members only and costs 450 gems.

Have a good day!

Grand Piano

Today's new item can be found in Jam Mart Furniture, which of course is located in Jamaa Township.
The item is the Grand Piano! This wooden piano looks pretty antique... wonder how good it sounds.

New Items: Dreadlocks

The new item that was released 2 days or so ago is the Dreadlocks! The Dreadlocks can be found at the clothing shop in this year's Summer Carnival.
The Dreadlocks are a member only item and they cost 2500 tickets, as displayed above. They come in a few different colours, as well.

Will you be buying the dreadlocks and giving your animal a new style?

Kite Flying At The Carnival

Jambo!

Get moving an fly a kite!
It reminds me of Benjamin Franklin.

His idea of daylight savings must relate to the summer solstice somehow, right?
Longest day of the year, still does everyday routine. That's totally me.

Also, Mission: Animal Rescue is in motion!
If you feel you can't help out physically, like mailing a letter, why not try informing others? It good to know so people will have an idea of how these animals live, so they can help out, too!

Greely The Sorceror

Jambo!

Since Greely isn't known for being the warmest of the alphas, it's nice to know that he can at least strike a tongue out for his tiki statue.
Either that or he was trying to scare us.

Also, wolf claws!
For your canine plushie needs!

Kwaheri!

Peck The Painter

Jambo!

Peck's artistic abilities definitely show in her tiki statue...
...at least to me. While the other Alphas stand tall and graceful, Peck dons a silly pose and has fun with it.

And hyena report on the Daily Explorer!
And to those budding photographers, AJHQ wants YOU to fit all 27 animals in Jamaa into one picture. That means the animals you can purchase, not every single player in the game, if you were confused.

Also, I'll be gone from this June twenty-second, to the end of August. It is a long wait, but there are other blogs you can check out for the time being. There's too little time to hire an author...

Graham The Inventor

Jambo!

Today's installment of the alpha tiki statue series features Graham.
Graham is a master craftsman, and is usually the one to get the other alphas out of physical situations.

The summer carnival is Jamaa's most recent event! Have you been there yet?
An eye-catching update always makes some players forget about it. Though new items should come more often.

Kwaheri!

Sir Gilbert The Warrior

Jambo!

Today's item took me a while to find, since I forgot that tiki statues appear next to each other, instead of the first item in the shop.
Sir Gilbert is impeccably polite, and very fair. He hears both sides before making a decision. The other alphas could learn a lot from Gilbert, as they may get frustrated at doing the things he can do.

Let Tierney Thys tell you all about her acoustic imager in this week's creature feature.
It uses echolocation to track animals underwater that use echolocation.

Fedora In The Clouds

Jambo!

Look up in (at?) the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a...fedora?
It blends in so well.
I truly wonder why...

Horned Armor

Jambo!

Gazelle horns are here to stay because you can now buy them for 250 gems in Jam Mart Furniture.
Some colors aren't in the selection, and I think the scary and rare Monday versions have gone up in rarity.

Players beware, you're in for a bunch of complaints.
I think there will always be certain items that will catch a Jammer's eye. After all, of all the items that went on clearance in 2013, how many of them have returned so far?

How do you feel about the new buddy request Jam-a-Grams?
I don't know what to say about them. They don't look as fun anymore and I don't really see the point in seeing what the Jammer looks like. It makes it seem like we should judge what the player wears to be his or her's friend.

If you're trying to get away from all the negativity, then read this cleverly thought up story of how the spirit armor came to be!
Little is known about a lot of things in Jamaa. haha.

Mask Of Paw Print Soccer Ball

Jambo!

A soccer fan can't go to a game without a trusty accessory, such as the soccer ball mask itself.
Sold in Jam Mart Clothing, one size fits all!

And take a trip down memory lane with a historic background of the game played all over the world.
Which team are you rooting for?

And if you're in the mood to stock up on flags, play Twister, the new double gems game!
It's located in Canyons Pathway.

Sea Lions (Or Vice Versa)

Jambo!

Score! Soccer items in Jam Mart Furniture! Why not host a game in your den?
You have your pro soccer ball and net, and that's it so far.

Don't kick too hard now, or else it might end up at sea.
Well, my pet hamster Earthguy would get it for you. He dislikes garbage being thrown in the wrong places. It could hurt animals. Speaking of...
This was posted on the Daily Explorer by accident before it was taken down. If you want to help endangered animals like lions, you can donate gems in the Conservation Museum in Appondale or print the printable pages in the Medical Center in Kimabara.

Going back to the topic of the sea, this week's AJHQ+A answers how some were named.
There should be a green sea. That would definitely make me happy.

Eagle and hyena badges are here!
You know, it makes me wonder. Where are the hyena plushies? Did AJHQ forget about them? I feel disappointed that they haven't been making new toys, but what about plushie collectors?

Trouble In A Bubble

Jambo!

Our calls, squeaks, whistles, and cries have been heard, and AJHQ made an ocean adventure!
There's a dolphin passage in case you're wondering. Peck and Sir Gilbert have yet to make their adventurous debuts, and I'm still waiting for penguins to be the basis of an adventure or have their own passageway.

New prizes await those who can land on one of four spots on the Daily Spin. Could this lead to another opportunity to earn rare items?
10 more color shades have been added to the rectangular pallet, making Jammers stand out in their outfits.

The spirit armor has returned, along with new accessories.
And in total, they cost 3 diamonds!
The amulet looks like a monocle to me and the tail armor looks like back armor.

The Flag Shop now has a sale, saving you gems!
I wonder if AJHQ would lose money in real life if they made everything in a shop free. Well, if donated gems can turn into donated me, I guess it's possible.

Jammers now have a chance to get their own item idea turned into an accessory.
And if you want to help endangered animals, check out the prints:
Count me in for that letter! It could definitely help animals like the lion.
The king of the jungle will be here for two weeks!

Plant Expert Cosmo

Jambo!

Every adventure needs tools to combat the phantoms. Good for us, we have the Cosmo tiki statue.
Who else could have been responsible for those Venus fly traps and boomseeds? What a botanist!

Here's a snippet of Smart Bomb's new mobile game about Animal Jam!
Pretty soon, you'll be able to play as your animals on Apple products and possibly Androids.

And on the Daily Explorer, oceans!
They're gonna be here all week...literally!

Traveler Liza

Jambo!

Ever wanted good wishes in a buddy game, the best odds in a trade, or simply the luck of an Alpha by your side? Well now you can with the new Alpha tiki set. Today honors Liza, and you can purchase her statue in Jam Mart Furniture, as for the rest of them, so keep that in mind for the next few posts.
Liza is an expert traveler, and can always be seen helping a Jammer in an adventure. She can also give to tips and hints to finding special treasures or objects, and she eve rewards your help!

"You can recognize a mangrove forest because they have parts of their roots above ground. These roots help the trees handle the ocean tides. The roots also help slow the waves even more and allow sand and other sediments to settle."
Allow Tierney to tell you more of her expertise on these plants on the Daily Explorer!

Also, acrobatic cats in Sarepia Theater!
They always land on their feet, but if they don't, they have eight more lives. "Curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back".

Blue Worn Galore!

Jambo!

Today's a fortunate day! Rare worn blankets are back in a new color, and they're only for 200 gems!
When have you seen such a cheap Monday item?

For those of you wondering if it's the same color as the original, here's a contrast.
Although, to me, the one on the left looked like the one on the right at one time, and just wore out. Hence the name, eh?

And a few words from AJHQ on the Daily Explorer...
That image reminds me of The Fox and the Hound. I think the missed the premiere on Disney Junior. Oh well, it'll come back.

Kwaheri!

Wall Shark Academy

Jambo!

Before getting to the new item, let's just take a glance to appreciate this fun egg planter activity:
Animal Jam Academy never fails to provide fun content for bored travelers, rare collectors, and indoor gamers, like me!

Wall Ivy is waiting to be bought in Treetop Gardens in Sarepia Forest.
You know what would be a fun in-game activity? Play some games, earn a few gems, buy a new den (preferably the small house), and make a jungle with wall ivy, flower rugs, and vine lamps. And if you're a free player, plants from Treetop Gardens.

Tierney Thys has the scoop on how much a shark eats everyday.
The answer might make you hungry.
