Yeah, I'm quitting

Hey guys, I'm gonna get right to the point. I haven't really officially posted in almost a year, there are a few reason to it.
I've been really busy, and I can't find a lot of motivation to post, and I don't know what to post about.
So. Yeah. I'm quitting.
I will still be reading all the post like I have been the past year, but yeah as you all know I'm horrible at commenting. But I do read all of the post you guys make
I really super enjoyed my time it was so fun and I honestly look at all the old post quite a bit every once and awhile!
I wish all of you guys good luck! I don't really know what else to say here so goodbye! <3 nbsp="" p="">

Screenshot Dump!

Heyyyy guys! Before we get into today's post, I wanted to let you know that this is another post that I wrote on my blog, The Animal Jam Friendship Community. I apologize for not writing a new post. I was going to, but I got busy and forgot. I was going to do a spike giveaway by buying a spike in someones My Shop, but I couldn't find one. Sooo, here we are. XDD

Let's get started!

---

Today I'm going to be doing a screenshot dump! I haven't done one of these in a while, but I love doing them! If you don't know what a screenshot dump is, it's where I go through my screenshot folder/desktop and select random screenshots from Animal Jam and explain what they are. Normally they're pretty funny, or just totally weird. Let's get started!

Such an honor. :o

I found this person's jammer wall, and thought it was so awesome! They had Bible verse masterpieces, and talked on their wall about Jesus, and being forgiven of your sins. People wrote back on their wall, and some were really positive, and others were kind of negative. I loved their wall though!

Here in this picture we see Binx1184 singing the VeggieTales theme song, Housemom418 lighting everything on fire, me and Celebrati0n extinguishing the fire, and Housemom322 very confused. Typical afternoon with us.

The house caught on fire! Therefore, the only logical option is to throw shoes at it, right?

How do you teach rapping (or "wrapping") on Animal Jam? Hm.

This is so weird, when you I tried on the green spring glove, it came up yellow on my animal. Not sure if it's supposed to be this way or not.

This masterpiece is so awesome! Wally Woooorld!

This is from when I asked House418 and House322 to become authors! Good times good timeeees.

When I was being demanded to become Olaf... I DON'T FEEL LIKE BEING OLAF. HMPH.

This was from so long ago! I edited some bloggers into this theater picture, that I'm assuming was from Animal Jam Archives. From left to right is Talloose, Gfox, Swirlshine, Violet, Lost, Ja, Kara, Sarah, Arctic, Coolcat, and me! On the screen is Frozen, Sarah, and me, sewing bananas. Maaan, we need to sew some more bananas sometime, Sarah! XD

I have no words.
No words.

This picture was not easy to get. AT ALLLLLL.

---

That's all for this picture dump! I would have shared more, but I haven't taken very many screenshots lately. I'll probably do this again in a couple of months!

---

Here's todays Bible verse!

Matthew 21:9

Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting, "Praise God for the Son of David! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise God in highest heaven!"

If you didn't know, today is Palm Sunday was a few weeks ago! Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter, that looks back on when Jesus came into Jerusalem riding on a donkey. People laid their cloaks, and palm branches out on the road, as Jesus entered the city. It's a time when Jesus was worshipped, and was recognized as the Lord. If you want to know more about this, read Matthew 21!

AJ Plants Compared To Real Life Plants!

Heyyy guys! This post is another one that was taken from my blog, so if you read my blog, you're not crazy, you've probably seen this post before. XDD Don't worry though, I'll write a brand new post next Tuesday for you guys! :)

In today's post, I'm going to be showing AJ plants compared to the plants they're based off of in real life! It's pretty awesome how AJHQ has gotten so many of the tiny details of the real plants onto the AJ plants. I was pretty impressed when I saw them compared! Let's get started.

*Just a disclaimer, all of the real life pictures are NOT my own. I got them off of Google, so some of them are originally from Pinterest, Home Depot, the almanac, etc..

---

Starting with the petunia flower bed that's for sale in treetop gardens (all of the plants in this post are currently for sale there)!

These two aren't exact in color, but they did a great job in getting the shape of the flowers almost exact! All of them have a yellow center, as they do in real life, and have greenery surrounding the petunias.

Next we have the passion flower! I've actually never heard of this kind of flower, but they're actually really beautiful.

God is for sure the best artist, and I love all of the detail in this flower. Animal Jam did a great job in capturing the little details this flower has! They even got the leaves surrounding it almost the same, except the Animal Jam version is a little more yellow than it is in real life.

Now we have the mass cane plant!

Wow. Wow. Wow. This is literally like a carbon copy of the real thing! Between the leaves, the trunk of the tree, everything is literally identical! AJ was pretty impressive on this one!

Here's the next one, the Boston fern!

This one isn't exactly the same, but the leaves are pretty similar! The Animal Jam version is a lot more fuller, but there are some Boston ferns in real life that look a lot more fuller than the one above.

The sweet pea plant! My grandma always used the name "sweet pea" for different electronic things for some reason. XD

This one is almost identical too! I have to say, I am really impressed and surprised that something in the virtual world could look so much like something in real life. Those Animal Jam coders and designers don't get enough credit for what they do!

Finally, the crocus flower! Another flower I had never heard of. XD

This one is pretty similar, but not exact. The AJ version is more opened up than the real life version. Maybe the flowers in the picture hadn't fully bloomed yet, but they are super pretty!

---

I hope you enjoyed this post! Which AJ plant looked the life like to you? I think the mass cane plant looked the most realistic to me!

Here's todays Bible verse!

1 John 4:10

This is real love - not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

Parties I Think We Forgot About...

Hi, guys! I know I haven't been back on Animal Jam Community in a few weeks, because I was kinda confused about the new vision for AJC. But as of right now, I'm back. :) Today's post is from my blog, The Animal Jam Friendship Community, that I posted a few weeks ago. Let's get started!

Today's post is going to be about something I think we forget even exists on Animal Jam sometimes. Parties! I honestly find myself really only going to the seasonal parties, when I forget even the regular parties have some pretty cool items.

---

The first of the parties is the wolves only party!

I love the graphic for this party! The wolves only party has been around for such a long time, that this almost has a beta look to it.

I always found this party a little strange, because it almost reminds me of a club... Just my opinion but uh- anyways. XDD

I never really see these items in anybody's dens, except for the moon window. Pretty sure that most of these people have forgotten about!

This is the top of the volcano at the party, and I'm not quite sure what I ran into... The wolf on the left said something about the moon being made of cheese. Not sure what the wolf on the right is up to.

Moving on...

The next party is the dinner party! I haven't been to this party in forever!

I really don't remember the flooring and the couch being blue... But alllllright.

These are probably my favorite party items, and they're super inexpensive! I absolutely love the tables, and the diner set. The ice cream sundae is pretty great too... hehe

Lots of nostalgia going back to this party! It was always so much fun pretending to be a waitress, and meeting new people.

Delivering food to people was so much fun too! Running into the kitchen "grabbing" a hamburger, or donut.

When I joined Animal Jam, this was pretty much everyones least favorite party for some reason. I loved it though!

The little cart you can buy items off of is so cute!

But I realized something...
I don't think they sell the bird poop anymore...
:cries intensely:

I always thought this party was so pretty, and it really was an educational party, since you could click on the birds that landed on the trees and learn more about them and-

Here's todays Bible verse!

2 Thessalonians 2:14

He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hello :)

I randomly decided to check out Animal Jam Community after probably half a decade or more of inactivity. And I can't believe what I have found.

When I created this blog nearly nine (yes, nine!) years ago, Animal Jam was not even fully released, I was 12 years old, and I wanted to blog about something new and become a "popular" blogger. I had watched many Club Penguin players had years before me rack up millions of hits, and while I had a decent following on my own Club Penguin blog, I wanted to tap into a market that hadn't really been explored yet... which was a new game I found called Animal Jam.

The name "Animal Jam Community" was chosen almost completely randomly. There was no deep thought process used, no prediction that an actual community would ever be built around what couldn't possibly ever be anything more than a teenager's blog about an online game. And yet, nearly a decade later, it seems that a community has been built.

Because to my surprise, when I checked on this blog for the first time in my adulthood, it wasn't dead. It wasn't abandoned. It hadn't been automatically deleted for inactivity, or hacked by spammers, or left to die by the authors I once hired who I figured had moved on with their lives, just as I had. It had been kept up and passed on to new kids and teenagers, with their own ideas, their own styles, and their own goals. And Pumaa, my co-owner who I long assumed I would never hear of again, was also feeling nostalgic and making posts similar to the one I am writing now.

While AJC may not be the daily updates blog that drew 100,000+ monthly pageviews any longer, it has evolved to something I am much more proud of, something much more special. It has evolved into an archive of memories, both of what the game was like back in "the day" and of what we, the community, did and who we were.

While I agree with Pumaa's recent statements that some of this blog's content isn't exactly what we had in mind when we built this blog, I'm okay with most things staying up because every little piece of this blog seems to mean something to someone, and that makes it pretty special in my eyes. And if people want to keep building the community further--whether that be with new authors, or just with occasional posts from the ones who are already here--I'm happy to provide this blog as a platform for them to do so.

I can't promise I'll be back here to check on things very often. I can't even promise I'll think to stop by ever again. But maybe I will, and maybe other people who were, and still remain, a part of this community will feel nostalgic and drop by some time as well.

Whoever you are, if you're here, and if you consider yourself a part of this community--whether you were an author here, or a reader, or if you're just looking back at some of our memories for the first time now--I want to thank you for being a part of this. Never did I think my silly blog would ever become something bigger than my silly blog, but I'm very proud that it has.

Feel free to leave a comment with some memories, or some updates on your lives... or whatever you feel like leaving. I'll try to check back soon.

-Steven (Slidoo)

ps. can someone tell me why this video has nearly 400,000 views? What about it is significant enough that people are finding it and watching it 7 years later?

A Little Update

So my last post stirred up a good bit of controversy. That's fair, and I expected it. My suggestion to start deleting most of the posts from the past few years was an overreaction, but let me try to explain my perspective.

I'd like this blog to be a place people can look back on to read about everything that happened in Animal Jam over the years. If a portion of the posts are off topic, rambly, or just poorly written it takes away from the legitimacy of this blog as a reliable archive.

When I first came back this week I saw a lot of these posts (such as this one, this one, and this one). I was pretty disappointed because Slidoo and I put a lot of work over the years into making this a reliable, respected blog. I'm sure you can go through our older posts and find some really bad ones that I wrote when I was young, but let's not revert back to that.

Now that I've looked through more posts I realize most of them are just fine - this has always been a site run by kids and teenagers so no one's expecting the posts to have college-level writing proficiency.

The solution that I've come to is that I will go through all of the posts and delete the ones that don't belong. I want to emphasize that most of the posts here will be kept. The ones that will be deleted are the following:

1. Posts that are not related to Animal Jam or updates to the blog
2. Posts that are of excessively poor quality (there aren't very many of these)
3. Posts that are needlessly offensive or that push an opinion on readers in a disrespectful way

In addition, going forward, I need to ask authors not to add segments to your posts that break these rules, either. Topics unrelated to Animal Jam or this blog should be kept to a minimum.

This sin't going to be a popular decision, but I am going to limit religious topics as well. This isn't a "christian blog" and authors need to remember when they post they are representing AJC, and not just themselves! You are free to write this stuff in the comments or on your own blogs (maybe we can set up a blogroll to link to your personal blogs?)

---

I'm not sure when I'll have time to go through the posts, but I promise you guys I'll do my best to keep as much of your work as possible. I really appreciate how the AJC authors have kept this place going for so long.

I have to ask the authors not to post anything new for a few more days while I get things sorted - sorry! As soon as I'm done we can get together and talk about ideas for how things will work going forward.

I'll be replying to comments below if you want your voice heard, but please be nice! We're all friends here. Let's try to make this the best place it can be.
