The Beta Days
Animal Jam was released on July 27, 2010. It was then in Beta Testing - meaning they asked Jammers to create an account and try it out! The wanted kids feedback to know what the game should be like. The Beta Testing period ended on September 10, 2010, and no one will ever be able to be a Beta Tester again. Sorry!
Beta Days Graphics
A number of Beta Testers still play Animal Jam today, one of them being Animal Jam Community's founder TheSlidoo. On this page we hope to have the largest and best collection of record of Animal Jam Beta!
First of all, there was no Membership. Everyone had the same privileges.
There were different player tags, animal looks, items, everything looked different!
The Old Map
In Beta, Jamaa only had four lands. They all looked very different than they do today!
The Old Crystal Sands
Before June 2011, Crystal Sands was not a water park, it was an exotic beach with cliffs!
The Old Jamaa Township
Jamaa Township was also different, with a large gem where Jammer Central is now.
The Old Temple of Zios
Where Zios' mask pit it today, an old monkey statue was!
The Beta Den
Well known for being the largest den ever, and Nonmember at the same time, the Beta Den was awesome!
Beta Items
There were plenty of epic and rare items from beta times!
Beta Free Membership
As a thank-you from AJHQ to the Beta Testers, everyone got a free membership!

Now a days if animal jam brings back betas nothing with be worth what they used to be and they there will be nothing to work for and animal jam will lose some of its game quality which is not good! plus lots of people have worked so hard for betas and rares so if betas come back then those people will feel like they worked so hard for nothing. people like me and i dont wanna feel like i worked hard for nothing. Well, Beta Testing was when the game wasn't released, and it was being tested. So in that sense, it can't really come back. But maybe AJHQ will bring back the Beta Den, and the Old Crystal Sands! Wouldn't that be awesome?

It would be a lot of work on AJ HQ's part to bring back everything that there was in beta times and get rid of everything that we have now that wasn't a part of beta times, and I just don't think it's going to happen. It would be cool if it DID happen though. :)

DeleteYou know that when skullies were released, it looked inappropriate on pandas when you play. I didn't try that out because I was beta testing a bit late but I imagine a panda with it when I know what skullies look like.It would be better if skullies are back but it disappears when a panda plays or on a different area than a tail while on a panda. It's cool on the tail of any animal but not on a panda.

DeleteIn Beta times, the top-earning game (The game that got the most gems for jammers) was Temple of Trivia. That's saying something about Jamaa's games back then, because the largest amount of money you can get from Trivia in a single round is 100 gems. Today, you can get so many more gems from other games!

It would be pretty insane if beta times came back every Sunday. I don't really think it's possible. I kinda like Animal Jam the way is it now, although I guess it would be cool to have an "Animal Jam Day" like @Pumaa AJ suggested above. :)

DeleteI joined in October because I saw in the National Geographic Kids magazine. Something interesting about the news back then: They used to have a Jammer in the Spotlight! They'd pick a jammer and have them in the news! I still play today and have a few items from when I first joined. Also, they probably won't bring the beta dens back. But it'd be great if they did! Also, it'd be great to add you Pumma!

ReplyDeleteI wish they still had Beta Days now only with trading, games, the Diamond Shop (only with just giftcard animals because, well... it would be the beta days), all of the new items we have now, all the dens we have now, all the lands we have now, SEA TURTLES THAT GO ON LAND (LOL), Jammer Central somewhere else, (because, let's face it, the gem was awesome), nametags that you can change color or the nametags only you can choose to have a regular nametag, all the cool parties they have, and the bat wings even though we could just color the regular wings back because they look cool :3

ReplyDeleteYes, I too have tried to log on through that website. Unfortunately, it is close to impossible to log on to the beta Aj. you would have to hack the system and shut down the security systems and add in the modern codes (of which nobody but AJHQ knows) And the code of your wi-fi, home computers, (if on a Apple Mac, the Apple ID) and other codes that the website needs. Google would ask you for ID showing that you are maintaining the site (Google Id is only given to google workers) and you would nee more Codes to secure the site and your computer from Viruses and bugs.
DeleteGood luck. I got as far as The Virus Codes but my dad Works for Google, so, ya. He helped. You would also need a beta username and password. Even then, it would be unlikely for the system to work without you re-writing beta Aj to work on modern computers.
I hope you try and manage to get on to the beta days.

ReplyDeleteUrl is the name at the site. it should be in a white bar across the top of the screen. just enter a name (Aka, your aj user name) instead which is what i have done here and it should say whatever you put in.

ReplyDeleteI played beta when I was 7 but got bored. Now I am 12 and I love the game. I was technically on during beta bays but never brought anything apart from a necklace (of which are in stores.) If I could go back to then I would tell my self to buy lots and lots and an orange beard and stuff like that. Omg I would be so beta. i then quit. I was Mountainash, look me up. I now do not know my old password so, ya. It sucks to be me I guess. My new user is 22blossomshystar. I do not accept buddy requests and my den might be locked, but look me up and jamm-a-gram me. I love to get jamm-a-grams!!!

ReplyDeletewell, I never knew there was such things as beta days but it look fun because I want to have a beta den animals looked differatnt items and everywhere looked different I hate new animaljam because there are scammers hackers and new animals and everyone one is complaining cause they don't have head dress or rares or anything rich people have and also there were no diamonds then so everyone could have everything its not fair I wish it could come back I really want to see what its like!:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(::(:(:(:(:( really want to test it out for one day atleast
