I am sick

Hello Jammers, Arcticstar here. Sorry for the recent lack of posts. Allow me to explain:

I am currently sick. I have not had time to post because of this. That being said, I will also be unable to do a proper post for today- I do not have enough stamina to write one at the moment.

I hope you understand! I will get back to posting as soon as I get better!

Flag, Arctic Experiment Results, Daily Explorer Posts, and Otter Seashell Glitch!

Greetings Jammers! I hope you have been having a wonderful week so far!

Today in the land of Jamaa, we have a great returning item! I bring you: The Flag! I really like this item. The feathers on it look especially cool! Unfortunately, I forgot to buy it while it was still in stores, so I was hoping it would come back! Be sure to buy one of these for 300 gems in Jam Mart Clothing... I think the real question is: What in the world is that pattern?

What could that marking be??

Next, we have two new Daily Explorer posts. One is about the latest Jammer Art, and the other is about the new AJHQ spotlight! Let's see, shall we?

It's great how AJHQ makes little contests now and again for every Jammer to participate in. Congratulations to all those that made it into this round! Be sure to check out the full posts here and here!

Next, we have a rather interesting glitch I discovered. See, I was desperately trying to earn back some gems (after spending them all on that expensive space set!) so I decided to play underwater Best Dressed. In one of the rounds, I was asked to dress "the cleanest" so I figured that wearing a seashell would look pretty clean! I went to go wear it, and the swirl on the seashell became stripes when I wore it on my otter! Is this meant to happen, or is this a cool glitch? Either way, I like it!

I also ended up coming in last place on this round XD

Going on, we have the results of yesterday's Arctic Experiment! Here we are:

Ask people these four questions: What's 1+1, What's 2+2, What's 4+4, What's 8+8. After they've answered that, ask them to quickly name a vegetable. Somehow, people almost always answer carrot.

It seems that the results have tested positive once again! Thank you to all that helped out! Here are the results from TheHipsterPanda and I:

I honestly have no idea as to why they say carrot!

Finally, I bring you: The Factual Part of this Post!

Our word of the day:

Frisson: A moment of intense excitement

Great word, in my opinion. I think it accurately describes the feeling when you are super duper excited and cannot contain yourself!

Our fact of the day:

Cats headbutt people that they trust, like, or think are safe.

Now you know more about cat behaviour! The things you learn here are oh so very random!

Have a great day, Jammers! See you soon!

Porch Swing, Arctic Experiments #3, and Ask Brady Daily Explorer Post!

Greetings Jammers, I hope you have been having a wonderful week so far (even if it is only Wednesday)! Let's get on with the post, shall we?

Today in the land of Jamaa, we have a returning item: The Porch Swing! I always liked this item. The vines and animations on it look excellent, and remind me of the lazy summer days I spent at my grandparents' home on their porch swing... Anywho! Be sure to buy this great item today! It is sold for 500 gems in Treetop Gardens, by the way!

The Daily Explorer has updated, and we have a post regarding Dr. Brady Barr's new video called: What is a leech? Is it an insect?" I am not quite sure myself, but I believe it is called a parasite. I should watch the video later too! Anywho, be sure to check this cool new video out right here! I have never honestly liked leeches. They kind of creep me out O,o

Next, we have another Arctic Experiment! What is it this time? Let's find out:

Ask people these four questions: What's 1+1, What's 2+2, What's 4+4, What's 8+8. After they've answered that, ask them to quickly name a vegetable. Somehow, people almost always answer carrot.

Well that's interesting! I don't know if it works, so let's try it out!

Now, it is time for the factual part of this post!

Our word of the day:

Connoiseur: a person with expert knowledge or training, especially in the fine arts.

Our fact of the day:

Each winter, AT LEAST 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 snowflakes fall in Canada each year!

Now that is a lot. However, most of the time Canada gets a lot more than that, as research has shown me. By the way, for those of you that are wondering, that number is called septillion!

Have a great day!

Space Locker, Arctic Experiment Results, and Daily Explorer Post!

Greetings Jammers!

Today, we have a new Deep Space Item: The Space Locker. How cool is this?? A locker to have all your space gear in it? And look! It even opens when you click on the doors. My only issue is that it is another member item. Honestly AJHQ? This whole set is great, but seriously unfair to the non-members! Be sure to buy this item for 400 gems today in Jam Mart Furniture!

Man... I should seriously get around to making that space themed den... I'm going to need a lot more gems to do that though!

Going on to the Daily Explorer, we have a post about this week's rare: The Rare Old Scuba Helmet! And look, a poor sea turtle has been stuffed into this archaic item! Poor thing! How does AJHQ expect it to breathe or even see? Cruelty! I do like the background on the image though, if find that Animal Jam has particularly lovely underwater art. It's a pity that the oceans are so unpopular these days. Anywho, be sure to check out the post for yourselves right here!

Taken from the Daily Explorer

Next, we've got the results to yesterday's Arctic Experiments, and boy am I excited to say: They tested positive! Before I get to the results, though, here was the experiment:

Stand in a doorway with your hands at your side. Press the back of your hands against the doorframe, as if you are trying to raise your hands. Stand there for about a minute, but keep pressing your hands against the frame. Then, step out of the doorway and let your arms relax at your side. Try this about 3 times, to be sure you are doing it correctly. If you do it right, once you let your arms relax, they should raise by themselves without you making them move.

It really does work, and it is very cool! Here are some of your results:

My results:

Going back to the second comment, by TheHipsterPanda. That is a great question, and thankyou for asking! The science behind it is simple, yet fascinating:

See, the entire time you pushed the backs of your hands against the doorframe, your brain was constantly sending signals to your body to try and raise your arms, but it was not working. A lot of tension built up because the muscles weren't carrying out the rising actions. When you relaxed your arms, all that built up tension acted up (kind of like when you blow a balloon, and then let it go, to watch all the tension and air built up inside send it moving around the room). This remaining tension caused your arms to move by themselves!

It's amazing! Thank you to all those that tried, though it may have been confusing. Be sure to check out the next Arctic Experiment, which will be in tomorrow's post!

Finally, it is time for the factual part of this post (though we have already had some factual stuff already!)

Our word of the day:

Couth: Refinement and sophisitcation

Cool word, and it sounds very professional too. Actually, the word itself sounds couth!

Now, for the fact of the day:

Sharks are immune to all known diseases.

Now that is cool! Think about it... It's like never being able to get sick!

Have a great day! Be sure to contact me at arcticstarjamaa@gmail.com !
